Yorkswood Primary School is an academy and an active member of the Robin Hood Multi-Academy Trust (RHMAT).

Governance across our school operates on two complementary levels: strategic trust oversight and local school leadership.

Understanding Our Governance Structure

1. The Multi-Academy Trust Board (Robin Hood MAT) The Robin Hood Multi-Academy Trust Board retains overall legal, financial, and statutory responsibility for all schools within the Trust. The Board sets the strategic vision, ensures financial probity, and acts as the ultimate Admissions Authority.

2. The Local Governing Body (LGB)

Yorkswood Primary School has a dedicated Local Governing Body made up of parent governors, staff representatives, and co-opted members from our Solihull community.

Working under the Trust’s Scheme of Delegation, our Local Governors focus on:

Monitoring educational standards, pupil achievement, and curriculum delivery.
Supporting pupil wellbeing, safeguarding, and inclusion.
Engaging with parents, carers, and the local Kingshurst community.
Providing constructive challenge and support to the Headteacher and leadership team.
