  • Catering

At Yorkswood Primary School, we believe that a healthy, balanced lunch is essential for fueling young minds and supporting active school days. As part of the Robin Hood Multi-Academy Trust, we partner with Edwards & Ward to deliver fresh, nutritious, and delicious hot meals directly from our school kitchen.

All key stage 1 pupils (Reception, Year 1, and Year 2) are entitled to Universal Free School Meals, while eligible Key Stage 2 families can access income-related Free School Meals.

    Medical Diets and Allergies

If your child has a medically diagnosed food allergy, intolerance, or medical condition, Edwards & Ward provides tailored medical menus to ensure they can enjoy school lunches safely.

    Important Registration Notice:

    • Mandatory Registration: Parents must register all medical dietary needs directly with the Edwards & Ward Medical Diet Team before your child can receive a tailored lunch.

    • Data Transfer Notice: Even if you have registered medical requirements with the school office or a previous provider, you must register again directly with Edwards & Ward, as medical data cannot be automatically transferred.

    • Unregistered Children: If a child with a medical dietary requirement is not registered with the catering team, Edwards & Ward may be unable to serve them a school meal.

How to Register a Medical Diet:

    1. Visit the Edwards & Ward Special Diets webpage to complete the online form.

    2. Submit any required medical documentation or diagnosis letters from a medical professional.

    3. For direct questions regarding food safety and allergies, contact the catering team via email at specialdiets@edwardsandward.co.uk.

Note: You do not need to register for lifestyle, religious, or general dietary preferences (such as vegetarian, pescatarian, or halal options). These preferences can be selected daily at lunch service.
